just finished watching Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives.

it must feel good to be Thai film maker apichatpong weerasethakul. the man might actually be a genius. he has this incredible ability to convince me that he’s not just some insane person, which is quite an achievement considering the family of apes that are supposed to have some connection to this old man who is dying but finds solace in the ghost of his dead wife who sort of appears out of nowhere, and then there’s this whole catfish/ancient princess love scene.. I mean, just see it. trust, it manages to be euphoric and all together confusing simultaneously.
